How Pinduoduo group buying works in practice
Pinduoduo is a marketplace where merchants list goods and shoppers place orders through the app. Team purchasing lets buyers share a listing and form a group to qualify for the price shown for that option. The product page and order screen show the terms that apply to each purchase.
Find a product
Find the exact listing and compare the variants before comparing prices. Check the size, material, quantity and delivery terms. A lower number on the search tile may refer to a different variant from the one you want.
Join a team
Where a seller offers team purchasing, compare the group option with the individual option. You may be able to join an existing team or invite others through the app. Review the group requirements and time limit displayed on the listing.
Place an order
Review the actual total, the shipping address and the order terms before paying. Afterward, check the order page to see whether the team formed and whether the merchant has dispatched the order. For a team that does not form, refer to the outcome shown in the app.
Common questions
Is Pinduoduo the same as Temu?
Pinduoduo and Temu are separate marketplaces operated by PDD Holdings. Pinduoduo is centered on mainland China. Temu operates an international app and website. Use the relevant platform to check the terms and delivery options for your location.
Do I have to buy as part of a group?
Team purchasing is one option on eligible listings. The product page shows the current buying choices. Compare the same item variant and check the group requirements before deciding which option to use.
Can I use Pinduoduo from outside China?
Access, account verification, payment methods and delivery are separate questions. Check whether you can verify your account and whether the seller serves your address before paying. Download availability alone does not establish shipping eligibility.
